Outstandingly employee-oriented

STILL is certified Top Employer

With certification as a Top Employer, the Hamburg company STILL GmbH has received for the sixth time in a row one of the most prestigious international awards for outstanding personnel strategy and employee orientation. The certificate was officially presented to the company at the end of February.

STILL’s Management Board Chairman Dr. Henry Puhl and Rebecca Kellermann Head of Learning & Development / HR Marketing STILL Group, are delighted with the certificate as a Top Employer for the sixth time in a row.

The certification is awarded by the Top Employers Institute based on a uniform, comprehensive investigation process to which companies from the whole world can submit themselves. The basis is a clearly defined, standardised catalogue of requirements. All the responses and evidence submitted by the companies are examined thoroughly by an independent central body in the context of an audit. Only a business that passes this test will gain a place in the exclusive community of certified Top Employers.

The pathway to it is through 100 questions with 600 possible answers, which must be substantiated by internal company guidelines, strategies and methods together with their respective measured values. The questions are derived from nine subject areas: Talent Strategy, Personnel Planning, On-boarding, Training & Development, Performance Management, Management Development Training, Career & Succession Planning, Compensation & Benefits and Corporate Culture. STILL was able to hold its ground successfully in all the categories, and scored points in particular through progressive offers to employees, advantageous working conditions and attractive training and development opportunities.

According to STILL’s Management Board Chairman Dr. Henry Puhl: “Our employees are our most valuable capital. Our highest priority is to support, lead and develop them. The complex, independent certification process to become a Top Employer provides us with an ideal opportunity to check whether we really do meet the high standards we expect of ourselves. We accept the challenge out of conviction.”

Certification is underpinned by the employer ranking as “Germany’s best employer 2017”. FOCUS magazine, in cooperation with the business network XING and the employer review portal kununu, determines the 1,000 best employers in the Federal Republic of Germany each year, based on reviews by more than 100,000 employees. The decisive factors in this respect are recommendation by its own employees together with its perception by other employees within the sector. While STILL, in 89th place in the overall ranking, is among the best ten percent, the fact that the company occupies seventh place in the sector ranking (railway rolling stock, ship, aircraft and other vehicle construction) earns it a place as one of Germany’s Top 10 best employers.

Thus the quality of STILL GmbH as an employer is confirmed both by an independent institute as well as by an assessment by the employees.
