Modular building block for the innovative MX-X range.

STILL's Hamburg factory, a leading supplier of flexible and intelligent solutions for intralogistics, has developed the new combi order picker MX-X range, intended for use in narrow aisle warehouses. The earlier models: MX -10, -13-3, -15-3 and -15-4, have been superseded, not with respective replacement trucks, but by a completely new building-block principle which follows the trend for a modular platform strategy and also sets new standards.

The MX-X range has scalable, rated carrying capacities, in stepped increments of 100 kilograms, ranging from 500 to 1,500 kilograms for use with turret head, and between 500 and 1,250 kilograms for use with telescopic forks. A total of five mast modules are broken down into three telescopic and two triplex variants with standard free lift, and the overall height in increments of 500mm. The optimum mast height is therefore available for every pallet size and every weight. Including auxilliary lift a total lift height of over 15 metres can be achieved with the MX-X.

Striking design for an unmistakable appearance.

The universal box construction with its tried and tested mast sections ensures high stability and low sagging. From overall heights of 4.9 metres, mast bracing is fitted as standard for additional stabilisation. The lateral and cross braces are made as design elements and give the MX-X models a striking appearance while providing additional stability. The masts are built wider to provide more room in the driver's cab with a better integrated driver's seat. The shoulder and knee clearance are both considerably improved due to this. The mast connection has been made as simple as possible - a safe and stable design - which makes configuration much easier. Standard parts reduce the need for special tools. When lifting and lowering between free lift and main lift there is electrically regulated transitional dampng, reducing vibrations and increasing driver comfort.

There are four different chassis lengths for the different battery ratings (between 420 and 840 Ampere hours) for the customer to choose from, depending on the required duration of use. Battery changing can be carried out by forklift truck or roller track. The driver's cab offers the choice of standard, universal and luxury. Standard is fitted for turret head attachment (SSG) option only, universal enables the use of either telescopic forks or turret head attachment and also the mounting of all components for STILL's Material Management System (MMS) which includes terminals, scanners and printers. The luxury option is particularly suited to forklift truck operation, for either telescopic forks or turret head attachment, and also MMS.

Optispeed combines high speed operation with driver comfort.

Different performance packages have been developed for lfiting and driving, and can be fully adjusted for individual warehouse conditions - short or long aisles, high or low racking. Speed regulation and load and weight sensing, both elements from the STILL Optispeed concept, maintain safety standards while increasing throughput. The best driving and pump drives in each case can be determined using a planning tool, where warehouse data such as length, height, driving and lifting performance, pallet turnover, etc, are used as the basis.

The MX-X trucks are equipped with the new 80V steering, developed on the basis of our tried and tested 48V steering. The steering is a fully redundant fail-safe system, in 2 processor architecture, which, in the event of a fault automatically switches to a safe state, and it is also CAN bus capable. The drives in the MX-X steering module are directly geared, eliminating the need for steering chains.

Redeveloped inductive guidance.

All MX-X trucks can be used within the familiar mechanical guidance rails. STILL's inductive automatic guidance (IZF) has been completely redeveloped to the EN standard. IZF enables fast, safe and tolerant on-track characteristics and is hardly affected by external conditions, such as the condition of the floor surface. This enables the driving speed to be adjusted to the maximum suitable to the application's conditions. The IZF Controller is built as two processor architecture, with main and control computers, and a CAN bus interface. Parameters can be set using different frequencies so that the MX-X can be used on all current systems. With the new inductive guidance system STILL has created an advanced system to imrpove the competitiveness of the end user.

The MX-X concept, which is protected by several patents, STILL has once again produced the bench-mark in the development of an innovative modular reach truck. The special design catches your eye.
