Still GmbH of Hamburg, a leading supplier of intelligent Intralogistics, is making great advances in the automation of transport processes in the warehouse. At the CeMAT 2005 trade fair in Hanover this was impressively demonstrated by an interaction between a reach truck model FM 14i and an order picking truck (MX-X). Both trucks are completely computer controlled. On the level the FM is navigated by laser; for vertical movements, the integral height controller comes into play. The MX-X on the other hand, is fitted with floor-level inductive guidance and the vertical storage location approached by a suitable measuring system. Fine positioning is then achieved by light transmitters and reflectors. |
