UEFA Euro 2016 – STILL gets the ball over the line

Trucks rented from STILL’s Krefeld branch used in the European Football Championship

When the 2016 European Football Championship’s opening match between France and Romania in the Stade de France to the north of Paris flashes across the domestic and public screens of football fans in Germany today, 10 June 2016, STILL’s powerhouses will also be part of the action. That’s because STILL’s Krefeld branch will be in operation under contract to WDR (Westdeutscher Rundfunk), the lead organisation for the EURO, with product solutions that demonstrate their talent for customized teamwork in the logistically detailed setup of the ARD and ZDF broadcasting studios. They include an EXV 16 from STILL and a scissors lift from Mateco.

Two RX 60-30 from STILL brought all the technical equipment into its respective positions during the construction of the media centre’s big camera platform.

Powerhouses leased from STILL are also getting things moving within reach of the German team’s headquarters in Evian: all the technical equipment is being brought into its respective positions during the construction of the media centre’s big camera platform thanks to two RX 60-30 from STILL. There is also the construction of the ARD/ZDF shared-use studio in the International Broadcasting Center on the Expo trade fair site in the south of Paris. For the first time in the context of a football championship, ARD and ZDF will share a studio where Matthias Opdenhövel and Mehmet Scholl will be the presenters for ARD, while Oliver Welke and Oliver Kahn will do the same for ZDF. In this teamwork, a smooth logistics chain will be ensured by solutions from STILL and Mateco, from trucks to the detailed assembly of the studio decoration in Paris, which was created by WDR’s studio workshop team in Cologne Bocklemünd under project management by Stephan Tönshoff and according to plans by the architect Matthias Rohder, and then set off on its journey to Paris.

STILL will continue to decide the match even after the final whistle of the last game, as all the studio components are transported back to their respective team camps during the dismantling. The victor’s trophy is all that the winning team will be allowed to take home themselves.
