Body vibrations - little cause, big effect?

No only since the EU regulation “Vibration“ 2002/44EG, requiring stricter limit values, has come into effect on 8 March 2007 has STILL especially addressed the subject of body vibrations. Body vibrations are all mechanic vibrations affecting the body caused by any kind of machinery including vehicles. Over time these vibrations may damage the health of employees. Exactly this is to be avoided. Especially the operators of counter balance trucks and reach trucks are often subject to strong vibrations. STILL has already recognised this several years ago and at the time issued internal guidelines instructing the engineers to keep a close eye on reducing possible vibrations as much as possible already during the first phase of construction of a new truck. In addition STILL developed strict testing methods to test new comfort technologies, for example, in every detail. And success claims us right: with a suspended cabin on the frame, the body vibration of the driver can be reduced best.
