This was CeMAT 2018
From 23 to 27 April 2018, the CeMAT 2018 took place on the fairgrounds of the Hannover Messe. The merger of the CeMAT and the HANNOVER MESSE combines intralogistics and industry in a new way. According to its guiding motto "Connected Supply Chain Solutions", this year's CeMAT was focused on industrial connectivity and promises a firework of innovations.
According to the motto "Simply Smart", STILL has excited his exhibition visitors. Here's a review of the trade show week.
Celebrities & competent solutions
Smart assistance systems attracted many specialist visitors and prominent trade fair guests into STILL's world.
Already on the first day our assistance system to help narrow aisle trucks deal with uneven floors turned out to be a major public attraction: Active Floor Compensation, AFC, celebrated its world premiere at the CeMAT fair.
For the first time it enables reach trucks to be used at full speed and top performance even on irregular floors.
At the CeMAT trade fair, STILL shows that power yields full performance only when combined with intelligence.
Performance is a decisive factor in intralogistics. But brute force on its own is not enough. What counts are intelligent ways to enable strength and power to be used efficiently, precisely controlled and fully exploited. The new RX 20, freshly crowned as an IFOY champion, is an outstanding example.
Full power control is also available on the EXV reach truck with the optional Dynamic Load Control (DLC) assistance system. The RX 60-80 Li-Ion also releases enormous power and can be seen in live use at the trade fair as a customer option - the biggest battery-powered truck with the biggest lithium ion battery in the entire CeMAT!
Service makes the difference
At the CeMAT trade fair, STILL gives an insight into the broadly-based services it provides - and into the work of service technicians.
STILL represents service performance that is unique in the market. We provide services and software solutions to ensure our customers' processes always run smoothly.
But even the best products occasionally need servicing or repairing. And that's just the point, especially with product services: their quality is very good precisely if they are almost invisible and are carried out by experts quickly and reliably in the background - and in such a way that truck fleets are always optimally equipped and continuously available.
Reliability plays a decisive role in logistics. Using an automated tugger train at the CeMAT trade fair, STILL shows how an accurately cycle-synchronised supply to production lines can be designed in an even cleverer, more reliable way.
This impressive work cycle between an EXV high lift pallet truck, a electric platform truck and an E-Frame could be seen several times a day at STILL's stand at the CeMAT 2018 trade fair. What's so special: all of this takes place entirely automated and without any drivers.
Herbert Fischer, Head of the Tugger Train Business Segment at STILL, says "Our automated tugger train is unique in the entire market. We implement an absolutely accurately cycle-synchronised flow of goods right up to the production line in which all the tugger train trailers can be loaded and unloaded simultaneously."
Presentations & fleet management
STILL went full throttle again on the last day of the trade fair: three specialist presentations ensured the brand was visible beyond the fair stand, while the topic of fleet management was particularly sought after there.
STILL's CSO Thomas A. Fischer spoke about trust marks, and showed how a brand's history can be utilised to make it unique and desirable. Another speaker, Matthias Klug, Senior Director Brand & Marketing Communications at STILL, explained in a presentation how customers can be turned in to a brand's fans by emotional staging.
