Thorsten Hofmann is a new member of the STILL Management Board

Karl-Heinz Birkner, Financial Director of STILL GmbH, retires

Karl-Heinz Birkner, Finance Director of STILL GmbH, retires as of 1 February 2018 after 34 years of service in the KION Group. His successor is Thorsten Hofmann, who until now has headed Corporate Controlling in the KION Group in Wiesbaden. With effect as of 1 February 2018, Hofmann was appointed by the Supervisory Board of STILL GmbH to be Finance Director of the KION Group subsidiary, where he will also take over the function of Labour Director.

Karl-Heinz Birkner has made a decisive contribution to the success and profile of the STILL brand and of the KION Group in numerous managerial positions in the Finance area. Since 2016 he was a member of the STILL Management Board, to which he already belonged between 2009 and 2011.

According to the Supervisory Board members of STILL GmbH and the Management Board of the KION Group: "Both our operating unit and the Group had the great good fortune to benefit for many years from Karl-Heinz Birkner's profound, valuable expertise. He understood the KION Group's DNA like scarcely anyone else, and took the Group a very considerable step forward."

Thorsten Hofmann began his career in 1991 in Controlling with Linde AG. In 1994 he moved to Linde Material Handling, where he was responsible for various management positions in the Finances and Controlling area in this country and abroad. He took over management of the KION Group's Controlling function groupwide in 2013. Dr. Henry Puhl, Chairman of the STILL Management Board, says "We are delighted to be able to complete the Still Management Board again with an outstanding financial expert, namely Thorsten Hofmann.
