STILL once again honoured for its outstanding commitment to career guidance
Recertification by SchuleWirtschaft
Providing young people with the best possible support and guidance for their career choices is a key priority for the Hamburg-based intralogistics specialist, STILL. Through a variety of partnerships, initiatives and action days, the company has worked hard for many years to provide school pupils with practical insights into the world of work, showing them the prospects and career opportunities available. STILL has now received the 'Excellent Commitment to Career Guidance' seal from SchuleWirtschaft Hamburg for the second time in recognition of these efforts

To give as many schoolchildren in Hamburg as possible an early insight into potential training and career paths, long-established Hamburg-based company STILL has been actively involved in career guidance for young people for many years, reaching around 10,000 young people through personal contact every year. To achieve this, STILL collaborates with 30 schools in the Hanseatic city, organises action days and a career orientation programme, and actively participates in numerous vocational training fairs. Each year, 120 school pupils participate in STILL's diverse internship programme at its Hamburg plant, and 160 gain their first experience of STILL at the Future Day.
Sparking interest in STEM careers
STILL places particular emphasis on the STEM professions - science, technology, engineering and mathematics. In collaboration with ‘nordbord - STEM Club for Young People’, the company regularly organises themed project days, including some specifically for girls. As well as introducing young people to various STEM professions and providing them with their first practical experience, the focus is on building personal relationships and inspiring young people to believe in themselves and their abilities. This approach is clearly working: of the 66 apprentices and students who will begin their training at STILL in a few days, 49 are starting technical apprenticeships, including eight young women.
Credible ambassadors and contact at eye level
To ensure authentic contact and open communication during career orientation, STILL lets those closest to the students do most of the talking. "Authenticity, enthusiasm and eye-level communication are very important to us in our contact with young people," emphasises STILL training manager Jan Wehlen. "That's why it's not just our managers and trainers who attend the events, but also our interns, apprentices, and dual students. They share their personal experiences and initial project successes, and they are the most credible ambassadors we could wish for."
Recertification by SchuleWirtschaft Hamburg: Outstanding commitment to career guidance
STILL has now received the ‘Outstanding Commitment to Career Guidance’ company seal from SchuleWirtschaft Hamburg for the second time in recognition of its wide range of activities. STILL had already received this certification for the period 2022–2025, and it has now been extended for a further three years. "We are delighted about this renewed recognition," says Jan Wehlen. "Especially since it is an award for the entire workforce. After all, successful promotion of young talent can only work if everyone in the company gets involved. Without our enthusiastic apprentices, students and interns, as well as our dedicated master craftspeople, trainers and specialist staff, we would not be able to reach and inspire so many young people to pursue careers in our field. That is why this award belongs to all of them.”
Comprehensive training programme and an average hiring rate of 90 per cent
In addition to 120 interns per year, STILL trains around 70 young adults per year in six apprenticeship professions and three dual study programmes, and this number is rising. With an average hiring rate of over 90 per cent, STILL enables many young adults to start an attractive career in the world of intralogistics every year. Read more about the STILL Training Program.
